Fort William Mountain Festival – Glen Nevis Rock Safari
As part of the Mountain Festival, join us on a “Rock Safari” through the Nevis Gorge to Old Steall…
…then ascend part way up Coire Giubhsachan before continuing to the summit of Meall Cumhann (698m). Descend the north ridge to Bealach Cumhann and return directly across the hillside to the car park.

This outing will be preceded with an indoor session at our Visitor Centre, High Street, Fort William, where an overview of the geology of the area will be provided by Noel Williams. A minibus will then take the party to the top car park in Glen Nevis to begin the outing which will be fully described in the soon to be published Map and Guide to Glen Nevis. Lochaber Geopark are working on the production of this guide with the British Geological Survey and Nevis Landscape Partnership. Our director Noel Williams will also provide some insight into the process for selecting the 8 outings that are featured in the guide.
Times – Thursday 18th Feb 2016. Workshop starts 10 a.m. and last for 5-6 hours.
Prices – £15 per person, £10 concession. Ages 16 and over only.
