The high mountains of Lochaber, its beautiful Glens and its magical islands, are here because they are built of rocks with a very long and special geological history. Lochaber Geopark Association is a charity organization that exists to tell their story.  On our Geotours, a local expert geologist will take you to beautiful places and explain how the rocks and the landscape were shaped by continental collisions, folding that produced mountain ranges, episodes of volcanic activity and finally carved by the action of ice.

Standard:  One-day and half-day tours. Transport is not provided. Participants will use their own cars. The amount of walking is variable but mainly over short distances on paths.

We offer two standard Geotours weekly throughout Summer: Glen Coe on Mondays and the Road to the Isles on Wednesdays. Other standard Geotours are available. If you would like to book a Geotour to the Isle of Eigg, parallel roads of Glen Roy National Nature Reserve, Glen Nevis, Ardnamurchan or Loch Leven you can do so by going to our custom date Geotour page.
