Highland Geological Society Visit
Highland Geological Society Visit
Lochaber Geopark was delighted to guide the Highland Geological Society based at Strontian between 8th-11th June. Over 3 days they saw lead mines, Devonian sandstones, unconformities, wildlife and a lot of sunshine! They hammered olivine basalts, collected Jurassic Grypheas and went underground at the silica mine. A few highlights were erosional fabrics on the basalt and zeolite minerals.
Hope to see them again next year!
